We’re mostly involved in producing 3D architectural visualizations for construction developers. Just for a change, we produced a short 3D animation of construction equipment – namely, backhoe loader (also called a loader backhoe, and commonly shortened to backhoe), and a dump truck (also known as a tipper, tipper lorry(UK) or tip truck(AU)) – it’ll be used at our client’s site.
The work took us 4 hours – 3D models were available, we just spent time on animating them.
While preparing the post, I checked out dictionaries trying to figure our proper English terms, and was amuzed to see that they are plenty, e.g.
“Engineering vehicles are heavy-duty vehicles, specially designed for executing civil engineering (construction) tasks, most frequently, ones involving earth moving. They are also known as construction equipment, earth movers or heavy equipment.”
